Don’t Guess. Diagnose.
Elite Vehicle Diagnostics
Check engine light on? Strange noise? Something not feeling right? We find out what is actually wrong before anyone starts replacing parts.
When to Get It Checked
Warning Light? Strange Noise? Something Doesn’t Feel Right?
You do not need to know what is wrong before you call. Any of these is reason enough to have it looked at.
Check Engine Light
Steady or flashing. Flashing means stop driving and call us.
Vehicle Won’t Start
Battery, starting system or something further upstream.
Loss of Power
Hesitation, poor acceleration or the vehicle going into limp mode.
Strange Noises
Knocking, grinding, squealing or whining that was not there before.
Electrical Problems
Lights, accessories or charging faults, including intermittent ones.
Poor Fuel Economy
A sudden drop usually means something is working harder than it should.
Warning Lights
ABS, traction, temperature, oil pressure and the rest.
Rough Running or Idling
Shaking, stalling or an idle that will not settle.

Tell Us What’s Happening
Describe the symptom — the noise, the light, the way it feels. That is enough to start.
Inspect & Diagnose
We read the codes and test the systems they point to, rather than guessing from the code alone.
Recommend & Repair
We explain what we found, what it costs and what can wait, then carry out the repair.
Common Questions
Vehicle Diagnostics FAQs
What does a vehicle diagnostic test check?
A diagnostic test reads the fault codes stored by your vehicle’s onboard computer and checks the systems those codes point to — engine performance, emissions, transmission, electrical and charging systems, and sensor readings. The codes narrow down where the problem sits; the inspection that follows confirms what is actually causing it.
Why is my check engine light on?
A check engine light means the vehicle has recorded a fault somewhere in the engine, emissions or related systems. Causes range from a loose fuel cap to a failing sensor, ignition fault or emissions component. A steady light usually means it can be driven to the shop; a flashing light means stop driving and call us, because continued driving can damage the catalytic converter.
Can you diagnose a vehicle without a warning light?
Yes. Plenty of real faults never trigger a light — noises, vibration, rough idling, poor fuel economy, slow starting or a loss of power. Tell us what you are experiencing and we will inspect and test the relevant systems directly rather than waiting for a code.
Does a diagnostic code tell you exactly what part is bad?
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding about diagnostics. A code identifies the circuit or system reporting a problem, not the failed component. The same code can be caused by a sensor, the wiring to it, or the part it is monitoring. Replacing parts based on the code alone is how people end up paying for repairs that do not fix anything.
Can Elite 1 repair my vehicle after diagnosing it?
Yes. We diagnose and repair in the same shop, so there is no need to take the results elsewhere. We explain what we found, what the repair involves and what it costs before any work begins.
Do you diagnose electrical problems?
Yes. We test batteries, charging and starting systems, and trace electrical faults including intermittent ones — lights, accessories, parasitic draw and wiring issues.
Do you provide vehicle diagnostics for fleet vehicles?
Yes. Fleet diagnostics are a core part of what we do. We can diagnose individual vehicles or work through a fleet on a scheduled basis, which is usually how downtime gets reduced rather than just reacted to.
